Re: EVCS IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Dear Families

We need everyone to complete a school lunch form.

For your information – our school code is 01M315 and the name “The East Village Community School”

Whether your child eats in the cafeteria or not. If you want to apply for free or reduced-price meals, it helps our school get federal funding, it helps benefit the schools to have this information. Even if you pack lunch and never eat in the cafeteria, please fill out the form.

To apply online CLICK HERE from any computer, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection. Entering your application online is quicker, easier, and more accurate than filling out a paper application. Re: EVCS Indoor arrival/dismissal:

Dear Parents and Caregivers at EVCS

Indoor arrival/dismissal:

Please note that we will always make an effort to have our regular outdoor arrival/dismissal routines, but will revert to our indoor routine if the weather or safety conditions in the yard prevent us from being outside. In the event that we have indoor arrival, our younger students can be dropped off directly in their classrooms and the older students can go up on their own from the cafeteria at 8:25. If students arrive before 8:25 they can stay in the cafeteria. In the afternoon, students will wait in their classrooms to be picked up by their caregivers. To minimize traffic in the building we ask that during indoor arrival/dismissal parents try to use the entrance to the building right off our schoolyard, at the top of the ramp.

New Family Breakfast: SAVE THE DATE, Friday, September 18

Dear New Families

Welcome to EVCS!

We will hold our informal “breakfast” the second week of school
on Friday, September 18, directly following drop off. this gathering is for all new families including PreK, K and other families joining older classes.

We will share information, answer questions and get acquainted.

This will also be an opportunity to meet our Librarian, the Nurses, Security Agents, Parent Association Executive Members, committee chairs, and to learn more about what goes on during the school year.

EVCS New Family Breakfast
Friday, September 18
8:30 – 9:30 am.
In the Tree of Knowing Garden (ToKG)
light fare will be served with coffee

WHERE IS THE TREE OF KNOWING GARDEN?

There are stairs located at the back of the building through the school yard that lead up to the garden. You can also access the garden through the cafeteria by taking the stairwell one half flight up, to a red door that leads onto the ToKG.

We hope to see you there.
