THANKS FOR GIVING! and a FEW REMINDERS before we break

Screen Shot 2015-11-24 at 2.23.59 PMDear Families

In case you were wondering, tomorrow, Wednesday November 25
is a full day of school. EVCS After-school will also be running as usual.

Thanks to everyone for the generous contributions to the Harvest Festival this year!
WE WENT BEYOND THE GOAL !
We collected over 1400 cans this year! This could be a record!

The 5th graders toted items to the yard, the classes gathered, Georga led us in song and we all walked to the Trinity Church on B with cans in hand!

A BIG THANKS TO THE HARVEST FESTIVAL COMMITTEE, ALL OF THE STUDENTS
AND FAMILIES FOR EVERY CONTRIBUTION.

The Trinity volunteers were very happy. Please be sure to let your kids know what a wonderful effort they made and accomplished today. What a gift it is to help in this way. The soup kitchen serves over 200 people a day at times and the pantry items that we shared today will go to help many families this Thanksgiving.

If you missed the celebration this am – the good news is that we will do it all over again in 2016!

Help take Care of an EVCS Plant!

IMG 7866Dear Families

We still need some help with our beautiful plants this winter!
Some of you replied “yes” to taking care of a plant this winter and still need to pick one up before it frosts. If it has a wooden shim it is spoken for, please do not forget to stop by.

We will be bringing more plants to the yard this week.
Plant Care will be on a first come first serve basis and we need to find winter homes quickly, as this beautiful weather will soon shift.

Many thanks in advance for considering taking care of one of the EVCS Tree of Knowing plants and returning it in the spring!

Fill in this form or find James in the yard for assistance!
Happy Plants they will be!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Many thanks,
James

Dear Families,

It’s fall, and that means the weather will be getting colder soon.
Please be sure to send your child with the appropriate clothing, so that they can enjoy outdoor play. Layering this time of year works however as we all know, the cooler temperatures will arrive. Be sure to write their names inside the garments.

Speaking of colder weather, this means that some of our plants will need to come inside for the winter. The teachers have taken a few and now we are reaching out to families. If you would be willing to “Foster an EVCS Plant” over the winter months and return it to the Tree of Knowing Garden in the spring, let me know.
This will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Thank you in advance for helping take care of the garden!
