EVCS Weekly: Friday, January 21

Dear EVCS Parents and Guardians,

Good work families, you are doing an amazing job navigating the flow of information, COVID protocols and updates. We truly appreciate your effort to get your kids to school every day on time and being here to meet them at dismissal! Thank you.

We want everyone to be set up with a NYC Schools Account. Roughly 72% of our families have one. If you don’t already have an account, check your child’s backpack for their letter to set one up!

It was great to see parents on the PA call this week! A shout out to Ebony for stepping up as a VP, and to Annie as the Fundraising Chair to help kick us into gear this year! Thank you both. It takes positive energy, a continuous flow of ideas and motivation to keep our PA lively!  And our PA has an open seat for a secretary! If anyone can help out, we really need you, please contact [email protected] to get more information.

And another shout out to our Parent Association for purchasing masks for everyone! Two K94 masks for each student went home this week in backpacks with a note. Please let us know if you did not receive them.

Let’s take a look at next week.

STAY SAFE•  STAY OPEN•
Maintaining a strong, healthy community is our goal!

  • We strongly encourage the COVID-19 vaccination for all age-eligible students. Get more information about where to get vaccinated by using vaccinefinder.nyc.gov or calling 877-VAX-4-NYC. Remember:  If your child is fully vaccinated they will not be required to quarantine after contact with a positive case.
  • If your child is already vaccinated, be sure to record their vaccination status in the DOE’s COVID-19 Vaccination Portal. Liz walks you through how to do that in this quick tutorial video. Reach out to Liz ([email protected]) if you need help!
  • Let’s continue to keep our building as safe and healthy as we can.

• The LabQ Van will continue to be set up twice a week on our block for the next few weeks. It is free and easy to use. There is no penalty if you take your kids to be tested, we will not mark them late. Windows are open, ventilators are on, kids are masked. Testing for COVID-19 is one of the best ways to prevent transmission.
