EVCS Weekly, Friday, November 13

Screen Shot 2020-11-13 at 1.20.45 PM

Dear EVCS Families,

This week flew by and today it felt very good to make our first drop of donated food items to Trinity’s Services And Food for the Homeless today. We are doing this in stages this year to space it out and practice social distancing. We took over 75 cans in this first round, and I know we can do much more next week! Please keep bringing more physical contributions to school. We only have one more full week to collect. The last day to donate is Tuesday, November 24th. Please bring in nonperishable food items all of next week!
If you would prefer to make a monetary donation directly to Trinity to support their food services, please do so directly at this link: safhnyc.org

We will see Cohort A in school on Monday, November 16th!

Please remember to reach out with questions any time.

Have a wonderful weekend and we hope to see everyone on Monday!

That said, we know that many of your heard the mayor’s comments this morning. Schools will transition to full remote should our city’s 7-day average reach 3% of positive cases. At this time our city is at a 2.86% positivity rate. Please know that if we do need to transition to fully remote for a period of time we are prepared as a school to continue the instruction and community we’ve built so far this year. In March, we did not have time to prepare for remote learning, but we are much more prepared for this potential school closure. As a school, we will be sure to update you should anything change – but also please keep up to date via 311 or other news outlets. Again, we hope to see our Cohort A students on Monday.

All best wishes,
James
