The kindergarten application period will begin on December 11, 2019. The deadline to submit an application is January 21, 2020. All families who apply by the deadline will receive a kindergarten offer in April.

As in previous years, families can apply to Kindergarten in three ways, online at MySchools, over the phone by calling 718-935-2009, or in person at a Family Welcome Center.

Staying Healthy

Remind your kiddos to use a tissue when they sneeze or cough, if you don’t have a tissue, sneeze or cough into your sleeve, not your hands, wash hands often with soap and water (hand-sanitizer if you do not have soap) to help avoid the spread of illnesses at school.

Head Lice
Please be proactive when it comes to lice. Check your child regularly and if you notice your child itching this could be a sign. To prevent infestations, our Parent Association sponsors a service to check all students’ hair for lice. We have done one screening this year and with diligence, we can stay on top of it. If you find lice, tell your teacher. It is important to share the information sooner than later. Any child found to have live lice will be sent home. Children can return to school once the lice and nits are removed and the hair is rechecked. Tying long hair back, not sharing headwear, brushes or combs can reduce the risk of getting lice.

Social Action
