EVCS Weekly June 10 – 14

Screen Shot 2016-08-18 at 4.37.00 PM

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are reminding children to wash their hands frequently and use hand sanitizer when a sink isn’t available. We have had a few extra high fevers recently and while specific classrooms may be reaching out we want to remind everyone to pay attention to take care of ourselves. In general, during this busy time of year, remember to get enough rest and drink plenty of water. Please send a labeled water bottle with your child every day. Remember – stay healthy, everyone!

Pride Day at EVCS!
The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are being held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world. In celebration of Pride Month, a group of LGBTQ parents from EVCS will be hosting a dedicated bake sale on Monday, June 24th. All proceeds go to an LGBTQ charity. Bring your own rainbow item to contribute to the sale!

And throughout the day. there will be classroom readings of this year’s school-wide book, Stonewall by Rob Sanders. A detailed sign-up will be shared out via class parents soon!
