School Wide Morning Meeting Message 3/18/19

Dear EVCS students,

Welcome back!

March is Women’s History Month – and this year has been a very important year in women’s history in America.  Did you know that more women than ever before were elected to serve in the United States Congress this year? This is a huge accomplishment and a reason to celebrate – but it’s also important to note that women still only represent ¼ of all the seats in Congress.  There is still more work to be done for women to have equal power and representation in our government, but it’s a good start.

It’s also exciting to note that more women than ever before are running for President of the United States!  Six women have already announced their candidacy for the Democratic nomination.  We have never had a woman as the President of the United States before. Who thinks it’s about time we did?  The future is definitely female!

We have more things planned for Women’s History Month, including some special read alouds in classrooms later this month, so you can look forward to that.

Big thanks to the Pre-K for sharing and hosting this morning!  Thanks as always to the SWMM house band, and thanks to everyone who came this morning and sang loud and proud!

Have a great day and a great week.

Love,

Bradley
