Mathnasium Game Night! this Wednesday evening (1/31).
This is a free family fun night of math games organized by Mathnasium and cosponsored by the School and the PA. There will be Pizza! RSVP here. We still need parent volunteers to help run the game tables, please consider volunteering. All ages and skills welcome!

Hello EVCS PA Parents
And Happy New Year from the PA! (It’s not too late to say that, right?) Whether your New Year’s resolution is to get in shape, go out more, learn a new skill, make new cool friends, get more involved at school or just have more fun… the PA has something to help you keep them all (except maybe “get more sleep”, that’s all on you).
•Math Games Night Wednesday 1/31
The school and Mathnasium have organized a fun night of math games for the whole family. It’s Wed. 1/31 from 5:30-7:30 pm. There will be Pizza!. We need parents to volunteer to help run the different games for 1/2 hour shifts. Volunteer Here. RSVP Here. Have fun doing math with your kids and meet other families, all grades and math levels will have a blast.
•EVCS Family Cook Book is in the works
A team of parents is collecting great recipes from EVCS families to be included in a cookbook. Send in your family’s favorite or if you’ve tasted something at the multicultural share or a bake sale that you loved and want the recipe- send in a request and they’ll try to track it down. Cookbooks will be on sale later this year in connection to the Multicultural Share Pot-luck. Submit Here.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It was an action-packed week! Next week is short and full. We have our book discussion coming up with parents and staff, and back by popular demand, a Workshop for Parents! Eric, our PE teacher, will be presenting some terrific activities to do with your kids indoors this winter to keep everyone moving. Let’s get the details and mark our calendars!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day (schools closed)
We tried to screen Martin Luther King Jr.’s amazing I Have a Dream speech at School-Wide Morning Meeting this week, but due to technical problems were unable to. Please watch it with your children and enjoy the day.
Tuesday, January 16
Pilates Mat Class
8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. in the movement room (Room 412) on the 4th floor.
LuAnn, EVCS parent, and certified Pilates instructor has 14 years of teaching experience in the Joseph Pilates technique. The class is a series of core strengthening and muscle lengthening exercises. No prior experience necessary. The suggested donation is $10. ALL proceeds go to the EVCS PA.

Book discussion about The New Jim Crow
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
(If you’re looking to borrow a book, ask if your child’s teacher
has a copy to loan!)
EVCS and Mathnasium Family Math Games Night!
When: Wednesday, January 31st from 5:30-7:30pm
What: Learn and play math games with your child(ren) at EVCS for a fun night together! All games provided by the Mathnasium in Union Square.
Where: EVCS, first floor
Food provided 5:00-5:30 in the lobby.
We need parents to help out with the game tables too.
