This is the PA’s biggest fundraiser and accounts for 1/3 of our budget. A budget that pays for and greatly supports much of the creative, enriching programs at our little school. Help us make this, EVCS’ 30th anniversary year, a giant whopping success by bringing in giant whopping auction items!

The PA Executive Board needs a Co-Treasurer!

Considered by many as the most glamorous of the PA Exec. positions. Please email if you’re interested.

Moderately elevated lead levels found in Non-Drinking water sources.

Letters were sent home in back-packs but just in case they’re still in those back-packs…

During a recent routine water testing 7 faucets in the building were found to have elevated lead levels. None of these 7 sources were drinking fountains and all have either been shut-off or labeled “not-for-drinking”. DOE will replace the pipes to these faucets, but no time frame has been set for this. The school’s maintenance currently, and will continue to flush the pipes every Monday and any day following a holiday.

The ugly reality is that NYC’s water pipes can be 100-160 years old, so water in all buildings, even our homes, runs an inescapable risk for elevated lead. For this, amongst other reasons, We, the PA, are continuing our efforts to replace the building’s drinking fountains with filtered units. We have raised and earmarked funds for “phase 1” – to install two units in the lunchroom and two on the 4th floor- and are working on getting the approvals and work orders from the Dept. of Ed. and Dept. of Buildings. The Building and Wellness committees are on the forefront of this and are always looking for members!
