As promised here’s your late October invitation to participate in the AfterSchool Bridge next Thursday, November 3. We will be providing coverage between day school’s early dismissal (11:30AM) and the start of AfterSchool’s regular Thursday courses (2:50PM) for $42.
This time around AfterSchool has partnered with STEAM-based organization “Esteamed” to design a program expressly with PreK to 5th grade EVCS students in mind. Esteamed instructors will be incorporating contemporary dance and martial arts movement with the express aim to increase anatomical and kinesiological awareness. Children will work closely with a professional dancer to choreograph a brief movement piece which, by availing themselves of STEM coaches on hand, students can digitally recapture and code using MIT’s famed Scratch programming language. Alongside this application and marriage of technology and movement in real life, Esteamed hopes participants will leave with a strong impression of their virtual and real-world creative impact. Interested students will also have established access to their work through their very own Scratch account which they can update and enhance at home.
