Re: Half Day Dismissal at 11:30, Friday, May 1

Dear EVCS families,

This half day is NOT a DOE half day – it is only our school.
This means that other after school programs will NOT have a half-day. Pickup at all and will arrive at the regular dismissal time 2:50.

Dismissal will be at 11:30 AM. Please be sure to be on time.

The EVCS after school program will have regular Friday programming beginning at 2:50. Any students who are enrolled in the Friday after school program – and any other EVCS students who are not able to coordinate child care between 11:30 and 2:50 – are eligible to sign up for the bridge to after school child care.

If you intend to have your child participate in the bridge,
it is imperative that you REGISTER HERE before Monday, April 27th.

Please let me know if there are any questions.
This information is also on our website.
Please remember to REGISTER before Monday!

Best,
James

AfterSchool: Notes & Noted

Parents,

Reminder alert!!! Next Friday, May 1st is the “extra,” (non-DOE, non-AfterSchool) half day bridge. It is being administered by Bradley (not the AfterSchool program). He has asked that you sign up before this coming Monday, April 27th. Please refer back to the EVCS school-wide email dated April 17th for more details. Regular AfterSchool Friday classes will run after the bridge ends from 2:50 – 5PM. Sign up for childcare/the Friday, May 1st bridge if you need to by:

REGISTERING WITH BRADLEY HERE

You may have heard or noticed that Boryana and I have been sharing on-site duties. It’s working (pun intended) nicely, so I will continue to be on duty Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays till the end of the school year while Boryana will remain with us Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Our schedules are noted on the signature line of each AfterSchool email in case you need a fast reference…And on that point, may I take a moment to express my sincere thanks to you for your flexibility during my maternity leave and also for all of the well wishes? Both are very deeply and sincerely appreciated. This humble curtsy goes out to Boryana, Adriane, Diana, PA Execs Allison and Jeremy, the AfterSchool team of instructors and assistants and everyone who continues to work sensitively and consistently to care for the families comprising this program as well as each other. In fact, thanks to Bradley and James! Although neither work for AfterSchool they are valued members of our community. Knowing that AfterSchool was in such good hands is precisely what made being away from this little universe conceivable. It’s hard to express how grateful I am for that peace of mind.

Please read on for news on upcoming happenings!

Peace and Smiles,

Camille

“AND HERE’S a quick glimpse into WHAT’S COMING UP!”

Sign up for the two remaining AfterSchool-run half day bridge sessions will likely begin just prior to the Memorial Day holiday! As we did last year, you’ll be able to register for both the June 9th and 15th bridges simultaneously since they run so close together.

The PA Exec Board and AfterSchool hope to launch an AfterSchool Advisory Committee for involved and potential parents and other stakeholders. Our first meeting will be held May 7th at 6 or 6:30PM. Childcare will be provided and we plan to hold a total of just 6 meetings throughout the academic year. If you’re interested, reply to this email.

In a similar vein and over the next couple of months I’ll be on the hunt to hear about your experiences with, hopes and ideas for the program via several light & breezy feedback vehicles. Stay tuned, gear up that beautiful brain and know: I’m here if you prefer email and am similarly open to meeting up for informal chats.

I’ll also be working on a few options for laid back, end of year events and celebrations. More later…
