A note from Robin re: Campos Gym and Parent-Teacher Conferences

Dear Families,

As most of you know, we have long been trying to arrange access to the gym at Campos Cultural Center on E. 13th Street for some of our movement class periods. Because we share the 4th floor movement room with the other schools in our building, there simply isn’t enough time (or space) for all our students to have adequate access to a large movement space. So beginning this coming Monday morning, teachers will accompany classes that are scheduled for morning movement classes to the Campos gym. The facility is located on 13th Street between Ave. B and Ave C, which is approximately a 5 minute walk away. This is a great opportunity for children to have more space and to fully engage in physical activity. Velda is excited and looking forward to making the best use of this full size gym.

Also, please remember that next week is Parent Teacher Conference Week at EVCS and we’re looking forward to seeing every parent! If you haven’t already heard from your child’s classroom teacher, remind him/her that you need a conference date and time, either in person or via email. Whether you see the classroom teacher everyday at arrival and dismissal, or your work hours don’t allow a regular visit for a quick hello to the classroom teacher—regardless of your circumstances, I urge every parent to attend the conference and share in the discussion that will help shape the rest of this important school year for your child. And don’t forget to stop in and visit with Velda (she’ll be in the 4th floor movement room) and Yadir (in room 413). They have lots to share about the work that’s happening in movement and art.

Looking forward to seeing you next week!

With best wishes for the weekend,

Robin Williams
